David Hassall (Managing Director)

David is a seasoned market research professional and has specialised in business-to-business and industrial market research throughout his career. He now has around 30 years’ experience in this area, employing both qualitative and quantitative research techniques.

He has been responsible for carrying out research projects and providing strategic advice to clients across a wide range of industries - from construction, building products & materials, chemicals, energy & utilities, industrial manufacturing/engineering, etc. through to broader business services such as finance, IT/telecoms and the assessment of Government business support programmes. Across these and other sectors David has worked with some of the largest companies in the world and market leaders in their field.

David is the leading Director of DH Research, which he established in 2000 as a marketing & research consultancy specialising in industrial and commercial markets.

Previous roles include Head of Business Research at JRA Research (Nottingham) where he was responsible for developing the company’s business and client base in B2B sectors; and Head of Business & Industrial Research at Harris Interactive (Manchester); having previously also worked for Taylor Nelson Sofres (both in London and Manchester) and Business & Market Research (Stockport).

Outside of work, David has three children and is a keen mountain-biker (whether along the local cycle way or on more challenging hill and forest tracks).
